Tom joined the Board of the Gershon Iskowitz Foundation in 2013 and took on the responsibilities of President at an important time in its growth. One of his first actions was to consolidate the opportunities of a partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario to the benefit of both parties.
As President of the Foundation, he sat as an observer of each of the Iskowitz Prize juries to ensure his first-hand knowledge and understanding of the selection of each recipient, a perfect example of Tom’s commitment to contemporary art and artists. Tom’s counsel was always wise and even extended to ensuring a careful transition in the presidency of the Foundation, as important to its continued success. We regret his passing.
